MLB: Main Logic Board, old school term for motherboard (been in IT for almost 20 years).

The reason why I'm asking is that I'm looking at building Home Server with that same motherboard but with the AMD Sempron LE-1200 CPU for low power/heat. I was concern about drivers and the difficulty it might be getting everything to work.

Where did you get that deal for the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400?

re: Ordered parts for Eco-friendly Economical Windows Home Server

Yes, I got all my parts. I have a follow up post planned, but in short everything went together and installed well. The motherboard works fine with Home Server. It did not pick up drivers for a several of the built-in accessories automatically, including the built in LAN card and a few others, but manually updating them and browsing for the drivers on the Vista drivers disk included with the motherboard corrected all the issues. The only issues I have had with the motherboard is that the MSI diagnostic tools to not work with Windows Server 2003, but it's not that big of a deal - most people say they suck anyway.

What is MLB?

Unfortunately there is no shop within walking distance that would have everything that I needed or I might have considered it. The closest would be a MicroCenter that is about 10 miles away.

My goal is to be economical as well as eco-friendly. NewEgg's prices are a little better than MicroCenter's so my shipping cost was probably offset by the savings.

Everything was shipped UPS, so my boxes were just a couple of additional boxes on trucks and planes that were already making the trip anyway. They created no additional fuel, etc. costs for UPS. Even for the delivery to my house - the UPS truck drives by my house every day. So I really don't see any additional transportation costs being created. Remember there are transportation costs for parts to be delivered to a store, too.

Besides I was more than glad to fork over $20 to save the 20 mile round-trip walk.
