I use NewsGator's Outlook plug-in to aggregate RSS feeds I want to keep track of. It's easy for me because it puts everything inside Outlook, which I already have open 25 hours of every day. I really like NewsGator. I like how it adds right-click ability in IE to subscribe to a feed. There is nothing that I really don't like about it. Simply put: it works for me. I run several different pop email accounts through Outlook at home: my work account, two different accounts through my ISP, a couple of different Digger Solutions accounts and a couple of odds-n-ends accounts. I'm guessing that both my ISP's and work's mail servers both run some type of spam filters because I don't get a ton of spam email, but I get enough. I still probably get about 20 to 30 a day telling me about Ci@1i5 or P0k3r or n@k3d gir15. I think I am using the “Junk Senders List”...
(the title is a quote borrowed from Rory Blyth ) Thanks to Scott Mitchell's post today - Stopping Comment Spam in .Text using Triggers , I finally had the nerve to pull the trigger (pun intended) and implement this: Preventing .Text Blog Spam using Triggers . From my initial testing it looks to work very well. I also implemented the Anti-Referral Spam trigger. RE: Am I a bad person for doing this? Apparently I am. While everything worked fine using Firefox it didn't work at all in IE. I was a little bit floored to say the least. Usually IE is much more forgiving. Passing the content to be displayed in the iframe's page through the query string didn't work for IE - I don't know if it was an issue with the content being to long or not. It just wouldn't display the iframe in IE, which I thought was weird. So I ended up just dynamically writing out he string...

I'm going to delete it, I'm going to ban your IP address, and if it keeps up I'll have to implement a filter on comments to stop the junk from being submitted. Before you get judgmental: I don't really like the show and once it gets past the auditions phase I don't watch it. But, I have to watch the auditions! It's like watching a train wreck. I was just working on a page and I needed to be able to do some sort of preview of the rendered HTML entered into a textbox when the user pressed the preview button.
